Reply:Looks great! That should withstand any storm!A fellow I commute with is involved with the local Little League. He said they have been having problems with the snack shacks getting burglarized by punks stealing soda pop and candy bars in the middle of the night. I will use your storm door as inspiration to cure their problem.-MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:Some specifics: 1.5 sq. tube and 1.5 x 3 x 3/16" rec tube for the frame. 10ga sheet on the outside and 16ga inside resting on 4 heavy duty ball bearing barrel hinges with grease fittings. I would've posted more pics but I didn't wanna go through resizing them all.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Squatters also have similar problems. Our solution after the whole doorframe got pulled out was to weld 2" angle up into a doorframe then use 1" reinforcing rod as "bolts" to attach it to the building. Welded both sides The door itself was a steel frame with reinforcing and lots of plywood and glass (makes it tricky to cut through with a grinder). Eventually they used a bulldozer to make opening the door unnecessary.http://moz.net.nz/photo/2002/10-stardoor/
