Back in the day, this is how I built it.What I want to do is cut the angle and mounting points off, beef it up with 2" angle and make the rack overhang the box's cargo area by maybe a 1/4". Upon these changes, I'll cap off the tops and I want to add mounting points to bolt my greenlee box to the frame, eventually painting both the rack and box black with "Rubberized Asphalt Undercoating"I'll get started on it hopefully sometime this week. I'll keep you guys posted.

Reply:It was! Until it turned brown! I'm hoping to pick up some scrap angle from work for the jorb!
Reply:Ahh, finally! I've been working on it at work on my breaks.Note how it's sits on top of the front rail now! Not the greatest picture. This is the toolbox mount in progress. It'll make more sense later!
Reply:Can't wait to see the complete project. one question, how do you keep the carpet so clean in your shop. People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs. Unknown Pro Mig 175Hyphertherm 600Lots of toys at work
Reply:The shop cat, he rolls around on the carpet, and we just vacuum him off!
Reply:One side freshly painted. Here's a cool trick, if you're ever welding something small that's threaded, and don't want to mess the threads up with weld spatter, wrap them with masking tape. After welding, it slides right off! |
