Why welder 6GR FCAW-SS not cover position CJP but joint for piping & box.
Reply:CJP = Complete joint penetration.FCAW /SS with duo shield?  Not recommeded for down hill. 6GR, "R" means there is a restriction. Was it a plate?Tube connection to a plate?Need more details. Those asteriks next to " ALL** " mean something. Look at the bottom of the page for explanation.Apples and oranges.Different processes= different limits."Our flux-cored wires are designed to operate on constant voltage (CV) DC machines. If used on a constant current (CC) machine, any small changes in electrical stickout (length of the wire from the end of the contact tip to workpiece) will produce large voltage fluctuations, resulting in stubbing and porosity. Therefore, using flux-cored wires on CC is not recommended" (LINCOLN)Was the wind blowing away the gas?Wire diameter? .045?In general there are limits to what some filler wires can do and problems you can have.Last edited by Donald Branscom; 02-11-2011 at 10:43 AM.AWS certified welding inspectorAWS certified welder
