Lincoln idealarc sp-255

Howdy!I'm hoping somebody can help.  I am a new Ag Teacher and the guy before me had let all the equipment get run down.  We have 5 MIGS in the shop and 2 of them are Lincoln Idealarc SP-255's.  The computers are shorting out on them and I sent them off to be fixed, but the place returned them and didn't fix the monitor problem.  At this point with TX Education budgets dwindling, I'm just trying to figure out how to keep the machines I have working without spending tons of money.  As those of you that have used this maching know it has a manual setting.  My question is does anybody have any suggestions about basic settings to set this machine on when welding for example 14 ga, 12 ga, 10 ga.  Basically I'm trying to create a chart to glue inside the hood so my kids can have a reference like the Miller's have inside their hood.  High School boys can't remember their name half the time after a pretty girl walks by so their's no way they can remember welding settings.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  FYI:  We're using .035 wire and 75/25 CO2 AR

Reply:If the welders will tell you the voltage and the ipm on wire speed, use the miller calculator for basic settings. I am a retired ag teacher from New Mexico and now live in Texas. We ended up repairing all our machinery because of budget cuts, and turned the shop into a trailer repair shop just to generate money to run the shop.  Good luck and if I can help send me a message.
