This is the scooter i built at school over the year. For any of those who was around last year around this time , you may have heard me talk about building it. At that time i was playing around with a small trimmer engine to get it to work , but i basically wasted ALOT of time on that. Learn from my experience , dont waste your time with any engine that is not made for some kind of use like this. 1. Clutch will never work  2. Not very good mounts. Finally , i got it finished and working good. I finally got it home. Its got a 49 CC 2 stroke pocket bike engine , with expansion chamber exhaust pipe. It is loud , and i did figure out how fast it goes about 35 kmph. I do have some small problems here and there , but overall its good. Dont worry it will get a paint job sometime. It looks ugly , i hope you like the purple kid bike rims  Back endMore next post....Last edited by David R; 06-19-2008 at 09:11 PM.Reason: Tried to fix pics,  sorry.

Reply:You are one dangerous puppy!   I wouldn't ride one of those on a bet! BTW, did you say 35 kmph? Kilo Miles Per Hour? Maybe on re-entry!!! City of L.A. Reply:I like it.  35 kmph = Thirty five thousand miles per hour.  EeeeHhaaa!!David Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:The pics in the first post didn't work for me. Cool though. I am really thinking about putting a 80cc motor on my bike. I'm just trying to find the best price for the kit right now. I have seen some on Ebay for around $150 and some up to $300. Apparently they have a top speed of around 35 miles per hour and get around 150 mpg. That's much better than my F250 Super Duty which gets around 10 mpg. I've been reading a lot about them on www.motoredbikes.com It's kind of funny looking at pics of the way some of these guys rig things up. Weldors they are not, but it's all good. Here is one of the bikes I saw that I really liked. Attached ImagesLincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000
Reply:The first pictures disappeared , must be some kind of time limit for attached files because of the way i did it. I cannot edit it , can someone fix that for me.I live in K-W area. I got the engine off ebay last summer for something like 60-70$ plus shipping like 30-40$. I was thinking of going bigger engine but i looked and anything over 50cc is to heavy , not much of a point. As for how much gas it takes , i'm really not sure. I haven't gone anywhere far to say , only around the track and such. It does pretty good though. I saw a guy on a bike like that not to long ago , was going faster than i would be on the scooter. Attached Images

Reply:How do you guys find the sprockets? And how do you go about fastening them to the bike and scooter wheels?I think this is kind of interesting. My neighbor has a bike with a motor but I believe it is electric,I'll have to check it out when he's not on night shift.pro-level dumpster diver                                     Hobart 125EZ
Reply:Will do comp. I take back my comment about them not being good weldors. This guy did a good job welding the frame and tank on his bike. Sorry Bikespot for hijacking your thread. I'll stop now. Reply:Upon a second much more detailed looksee..You only have FRONT brakes???Bad move..Time to engineer rears to that.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:I''ve heard of people putting steel wool inside the muffler to quiet it down. I'm not sure if it actually works though.Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Stick Linde HDA-300 MillerMatic DVI MIG Miller Dynasty 200DX Hypertherm Powermax 1000

Reply:Originally Posted by BikespotI forgot to add ... yes it only has front brakes. The reason i only have front i because there is NO space to put them at the back. Well for the type of brakes thats on the front. I might be able to put some other style on , but i would have to make a bracket. What would i do for a lever then , there already is gas on the right and brake on left side.  Really it hasn't been that bad , the front ones do work.
Reply:Originally Posted by zapsterNever say never..My Ski-Doo has a very small disc brake opposite the clutch..The master cylinder is very small and you could adapt that kind of set up to the jackshaft of the engine..There are many used sled parts places in Canada eh?Member wog820 is adapting a disc brake set-up from a Honda Motorcycle to his Railroad Speeder so it stops the rig faster than the wheel brakes..ANYTHING is possible..Think about it....zap!
Reply:nice!!! i like it
Reply:Originally Posted by BikespotAlmost everything is possible , i never said it wasn't possible. It would have to go directly on the wheel for it to work , because the gear can turn freely if there is no pressure on it. Just like on a bike wheel.
Reply:Originally Posted by zapsterWell then you have a starting point..Couple of small brackets for the caliper...Comon!! You can do this.....zap!
Reply:No way i would ride that without my full leather track suit, boots, gloves, and helmet for the sportbike... i can see that rear wheel falling off.it looks like something you would see in one of those trips to some third world place.I think it kicks ace. I personally wouldn't ride it because I would break something, but it's definately custom. .
Reply:Oh boy I hope this keeps going I gotta do something this winter after the hunting season is over and the cabin fever kicks in.Oh Oh the wife and mother in-law are having a garage sale and I thought I saw and old 3 speed bike out there.Maybe I could make it a one speed. Reply:Thanks for all the bike posts.Myself,  I'm thinking about chain(saw)drive!
Reply:Cool little bike. What about finding a old MoPed and retrofit the rear sprocket and drum brake and then make a small pedal at the front and use cable to work it.
Reply:Thanks for all the comments. Today i decided to kill some exam study time and take apart the scooter for cleaning and paint. I did realize something the other day a crack in the gas tank bracket weld.  Today when i took it all apart , i found that there was a crack , and now the bracket is wobbling around. Not sure whats holding it in there. I don't have welder at home , so i can't fix it , one bracket will have to do. In the fifth attachment photo is where you can see the mounting bracket to the frame for the gas tank bracket. Its those two little plates with the hole in it. Its the one on the right , you cant see it so great. I'm not entirely sure on colors , all the little extras will be black including the purple rims, then the frame instead of orange will be something else.I'll keep you updated. Another thing i forgot to mention on the first picture you can see the exhaust pipe where i raped around that cloth at the end. Made it a little more quieter. Reply:Originally Posted by Carl26I can't tell for sure, but it looks like there would be space under the engine to weld a bracket and mount another brake. Then again maybe the front brake is good enough. You could make it into a trike scooter and mount a brake to the other wheel. Just thinking.
