When I finish a tig weld on one side of lets say a square tube and then go around the corner to weld on the other side I get a bubble that forms at the end of the weld. pieces are ground/sanded of all surface oxides and wiped with aceton just prior to welding. Rod is wiped also. 2% ceriated tungston welding steel. I t will acutualy grow just as you finish the weld and and is very poris. Beganing and during weld are fine 20 cfm shielding gas argon.
Reply:It sounds like you are welding some thin stuff. you're cleaning it fine , i think you're losing gas coverage when it bubbles. and you should also have about 4 or 5 seconds Of "POST  flow" Of the shield  gas

Reply:make sure you have a good quality filler rod too.
Reply:its most likely not holding the gasover it afteryou brake arc
Reply:Is this the final weld, sealing the tube?? I have run into this problem, when sealing a workpiece. The air/gas is still expanding, inside, as you are finishing the weld, and the internal pressure forces air/gas out through the weld, as you reach the end..........Just a thought.....We need to protect Freedom of Speech, otherwise, how would we know who the A-holes (like me) are.

Reply:This is way off topic, and I just got home from the bar so maybe I'm alone on this, but i just have to say that MetalSculptor sincerely cracks me up.  All the serious talk about kings and empires is really epic...
