Nice Looking Aluminum Rail

This was somewhat of a copy of a wooden rail that was existing. We went back a little further with the return then the original. But could not mount anything back further then that. It will be up to someone else to figure out what to do with the space there. It required some materials we never put together like that before. I liked it. You have to watch the top rail. It can warp violently. I wanted the 1/16" thick material for the balusters. But they only had 1/8" material. It causes the top rail to get a little ornery. I welded it with a Miller 250 TIG, 3/32" Tungsten Thoriated. A number 4 cup and used just a touch of Helium. I was moving at an insane rate. Welded that up in about 8 hours time. I had some red spots, one on my neck from the helmet and shirt not covering. And one on each arm at the inside of the elbow. They took off some skin. And my arms are pretty used to it. As you can see I did clean the aluminum.        Sincerely,             William McCormick

Reply:It simply can not be better... and probably more expensive...When they sell the house they should sell the rail separately...But overall looks extremely neat and considering the added value to the house was probably totally worth it
