oxy/acetylene ratio

Can somebody tell me how many oxygen cylinders I use to acetylene cylinders?  Is it 2 oxygen to every acetylene?

Reply:like was said above...depends on what you are doing.  The best deal I ever had going was when I was doing a lot of cutting and using propane w/oxygen.  then got (2) 250cf bottles of oxygen to one five gallon propane. But that was pure cutting and heating.Your mileage may vary.

Reply:the ideal burn ratio is 5 volumes of O2 for every 2 volumes of acetylene2 C2H2 plus 5 02 yields 4C02 plus 2 H20you get a bit of O2 from the air, so in reality the O2 requirement is somewhat less
