Here are a couple of things I built this summer. The guards and pommels are brazed on.

Reply:Absolutely beautiful.....don't you dare quit posting pics!If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
Reply:Thanks for the kind words everyone.Brocolli, I made those. I don't have access to much of a variety of tubing to make them with and it is over a hundred miles to the town where I get it. Jantz Suppy has a large supply of mosaic pins although they are expensive. 6010, I don't make them to sell. I give one to a friend once in a while. My daughter grabbed the last one I made. If I started selling them it would turn into a job and I don't want to work.  I do it to keep from getting bored.I have three or four more that haven't walked off yet. I'll take some pictures and put them on.
Reply:excellent work!!!!!! ur only fooling urself if u dont keep posting pics, r u not proud of ur work??? i take pics of all of my work, when u can build somethin from nuthin, thats somethin!!!!! take care nice work

Reply:Beautiful Workmanship Oldtimer!!It ain't your grandma's box!!
Reply:If you get a chance when you start another it would be cool to have a step by step of making one of those knives.  I know I would like to try to make one.  Awesome work!!DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:I'll see what I can do, littlefuzz. It may be a while though. I have a really nice piece of burl wood for a handle that is calling to me pretty hard.I have to build some panels to winterize my swamp cooler first. Price of propane is too high to waste any heat.
Reply:That burl will be real nice for a handle.  I have been wanting to make a knife for a while but haven't had the time to try it.  I like woodworking too so it seems right up my alley.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:Really nice piece of art Oldtimer. And, great pics to boot!!!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Beautiful work. What is the purpose of the little maks at the top of the blade, do they have a name?
Reply:I just add them for a little decoration. I guess if you placed you thumb on them when cutting it would keep your thumb from slipping. I've heard them referred to as "filework" in some cases. I've seen pictures of knives with really intricate patterns cut into the back of the blade and on full tang handles.
Reply:Your sheath work is very good too. Me likie.Have you made any folded steel blades "demascus"?DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:I haven't tried that, littlefuzz.Noticed my pictures are gone. Must be something to do with using photobucket. I'll have to ask Jolly Roger about that. He has a diploma saying he is a computer geek so he should know.

Reply:Oldtimer:It's Friday night, 10-10-08. And your photos are still here. Well, they're still here in Denver.  Maybe Jolly Roger learned 'puting' from me??
