No welding, but I cut it out with my Custmaster 39. 1/4" aluminum diamond plate.Put a bend in it to match the contours and so part of it goes under the mat.Powder coated it in gloss black.And it's held down with velcro.This car was strange that it has such an obvious spot for the left foot to rest but the floor mats don't cover it. That's all taken care of with this. Attached Images
