customer called and said he had a hot job for me. catch was it had to be done tomorrow. and they would get there at 2:00pm. job was welding new flanges back into the hubs. these are used in the coal mines. first had to clean a strip on the inside. then place the flange 7" from the top. tack and flip and tack again. lil preheat and three passes both sides. dual shield wire with co2 gas. 045 wire. 320 wire speed and 23 on the voltage. Reply:PatrickpDon't you have a Welding Positioner to make it easier and faster to do the wleding. Man, I would hate to have to weld that free hand. Also what outershield wire are you using sense you said 100% Co2.Thanks
Reply:yep all done by free hand. four of em.  wire is inweld E71t-1 cored wire. i still have a big wish list for toys, umm tools.

Reply:farmersamm yeah i have a variety of stuff that comes to me. and it's only getting better.. don't know which mining machine it came off of. that's just one half of the rim. it slides into the other half and locks in place with a ring.  stwelder don't know what ya mean by a scoop rim. probaly different name same thing.
