Razor blades revisited

We landed a small contract where razor blades have to be chopped down and inserted into  3/32" roll pins.  I made up a few jigs to help me along.  But that dosn't help the welding end of things.  I have an order of 200 of them, and I'm not sure I'll make it.  My eye's are going cross eyed.  In the picture, there is a piece of .035 wire as a reference. Reply:Ditto David R....andThe only time I ever GTAW razor blades together was when I tried a brand new 'start-of-the-art' Lincoln Precision Tig 275 seven or so year ago for the first time. The thing to do was weld razor blades together for fun not necessity. Fuse tig like you are doing for necessity would do me in as my eyes are not as sharp anymore.What the heck are they used for anyhow?
Reply:Nice work, may want to try a diopeter(magnifier) in your helmet to reduce eye strain if it's bothering you.Er70S-2
Reply:They mount in a table and some kind of silicone material is run across them.  These are great little money makers. But I figured an answer..  The neighboring business loaned me one of their magnifying stands.  So I taped a welding lens to it and off to town I went.  That was so much easier.  And so did dropping my tungsten size to .040 Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
