I'm looking for a furnace or plans for building a furnace for preheating aluminum cylinder heads for TIG welding. I have a small shop without big bucks to spend on a real furnace. Does anyone have any ideas?ThanksMark

Reply:I thought about building a propane powered box with some firebrick inside. I have a thermocouple measuring meter, but I might even be able to buy some furnace themostat controller for pretty cheap. All I need is about 400-500 degrees.
Reply:i fix/modify aluminum heads all the time..very rarely pre heat one......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
