Hello all,My square wave pro has been locked away for about 2yrs and attmepting to use it today, the gas solenoid comes on whenever the machine is switched to the TIG position. The foot pedal is not connected. I pulled one of the control wires from the solenoid and it switches off.Does anyone know where I can obtain a schematic for the controller board?I have a feeling that it is just a bogus transistor. Just trying to save some time and $$$. I have no idea what a new controller board costs (if you can find one)but I am sure they are quite expensive.Feedback welcome.Thank you,Clark PS. I have used the Lincoln for years building and fabricating homebuilt aircraft.Aluminum and 4130 chromaloy. What a great machine.
Reply:I'm using a Square Wave 175 in school. It has a preflow 'when you first turn it on'. I think it does this to push the air out of the line so that when you start to weld your gas is ready to go.Could this be what you are seeing?Ironheart
Reply:My TIG machine will purge the line by turning the gas solenoid on whenever it is switched on when set to TIG. It's a Lincoln 250/250 TIG/STICK Idealerc. I think most of them do this. It sounds like our machine is still working since it is purging theline when turned on as it should. How does it weld?
Reply:Thank you for the replies and for reminding me of the line purge function. If I remember, the machine was switched to the TIG position, the line would purge and the gas would shut down until you stepped on the pedal. My machine runs all the time, which is why I was looking for a schematic. It still welds beautifully just runs the gas all the time.Wonder what a new board costs? Thanks againClark |
