First let me say thanks for the great site I have been helped greatly already. Here is the question, as a new mig user do I need a spoolgun if I am not going to weld thin material or aluminum. I received an email from Eastwood for free shipping and another today for 50.00 off, so I looked at there mig welders and found a 175 for 650.00 . So I placed an order andd was told welders were exempted from both offers. HUH.. O K I went into town and found a 210 Hobart for 699.00. I have Hobart helments, so would not use Eastwoods; have a mig cart on a Lincoln 100 so would not have to use theirs. Is the spoolgun worth the difference, if I need parts with the Hobart I can get em. What do you folks think, Thanks Johnny

Reply:no you don't need a spool gun._______________________OF COURSE I DON'T LOOK BUSY... I DID IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
Reply:you can weld thin stuff with .023 wire no problem with standard mig gun. spool gun is for aluminum because aluminum is so soft the wire with all knot up if you try and feed it through a 10- 15 ft mig gun liner. hope that makes sense..Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.
