Reply:[QUOTE=badtexasz28;230286]Isnt everyone about an hour away from everyone else in MA? lolPretty much north and south...maybe a little more east and west...but it takes 3 times as long to travel the same distance..LolTook awhile to get used to being able to drive more than 20 miles in an hour and not sitting in traffic.. I also have an aunt in Corpus, I have never been to Texas yet...JimLincoln Power Mig 255Hobart Stickmate AC/DCMiller AEAD 200LECutmaster 81
Reply:The paint looks super! I like the yellow. I see you added plates to box in the web to stiffen the H-section. Have you tried to measure deflection off-plumb when lifting the welder? Maybe suspend a plumb bob from the top of the column, say 2" out with no load, then lift the welder and measure how far the bob moves at the floor. I might suggest frequent inspection of the floor around the base of the column and checking to see if any gap opens up between the base plate and the concrete floor, especially on the back side by the wall. Any changes would suggest immenent anchor failure. Reply:The axe is for unwanted company that may stop by.There is a little deflection i have had a 4' magnetic level on the back side but have not actually measured it yet.And yes i will check my floor achors monthly.Last edited by admswelding; 11-30-2008 at 03:48 PM.
