Reply:Do you have to have a front plate in your state? Be a shame to have to put the flat mounting plate on. Ruin the look of the bumper."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Wow, that thing looks mean. It is strictly sharp lined tough looking. If I see that bad-*** bumper in my rearview, Im letting it pass! Keep the pics. coming.

Reply:Nice job and good looking lines to it. You must be at the cutting edge of bumper technology. Should be a good match for the rear one you did a while back."One of the things we have to be thankful for is that we don't get as much government as we pay for." Reply:nice bumper. i'm going to build one of those cattle guards like on the old time steam engines. way to many deer running around. need something to sweep em out of the way.
Reply:That looks excellent. Im doing the same thing i drive a lifted duramax, just finished my fabrication on the rear. Just a trick that saves alottt of fitting time. Get a full fresh sheet of steel and lay it out as if you "unfolded" your bumper. Cut around the perimeter then make creases on all your bend marks with a zip cut and then proceed to bend/tack. Saves alot of grinding/fitting. Doesnt save on the welding though! Attached Images

Reply:It's all 10ga scraps. None of my pieces were over 7" wide, so I just have to make do. As far as the fitting it was kinda just mark and cut and them trace to make one for the other side. I had most of it togather already but realized it was about an 1/8" off so I had to take it all back apart and move it a bit. Most everything was eyeballed since there ain't any good spots to reference (trucks aren't that precise). There is a piece of 4" channel inside the bumper for extra support. It will be painted black to match the back bumper, now if I could paint the whole truck black and get some of those badazz chrome and black wheels I'd be set.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Ya those wheels would look sick on your truck. Get them in black if you can!. Ya i can definatly see where your coming from its not possible if your not working with a full sheet but you did an exceptional job by fitting every piece. Im using 3/16" material for the back. The pulling lugs are 3/4" thick material. I am machining 6 sided spikes for my shackel bolts. Front im using a mixture of 1/4" and 3/16". Being a welder as you are you would know, i cant justify going out and spending 1500 on a rear, and the particular front bumper im building is 4g. Thats absolutely outragous they want that much. Where as you can build front/back on your own for 400$ max materials/paint. Im getting my bumpers line'xd. Keep up the good work man!
Reply:The LineX would be the way to go. I was looking around just to see how much comparable bumpers were and one company wanted $1600 for the standard bumper they made. If I had a shear and brake it would be much easier, I did borrow a plasma from work and that helped a whole lot. When I done the back I just used the torch.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools

Reply:Hell, the paint looks great.Different is good too. Most every other fabricated front bumper involves around a ton of pipe, and diamond plate. Front tires on the trucks almost flat from all the extra weight"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:If you do the cutouts for the lights, is there any way to make some provision for towing with a chain in an emergency. My F-150 has a lousy bumper with no way to really hook a chain without tearin' up the bumper. Believe me, I know Had to pull it out of the creek bed, hooked to the frame, but the pressure of the chain bent the bumper where it passed under it."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
