Reply:Im not sure I see why there is a need for flux core aluminum wire..? Argon sheilding gas is readily available and works great for making clean aluminum welds. The flux core steel wires I've used have been very spattery and dirty compared to the cleanliness and smooth puddle filling of solid wire and argon/co2 gas. I dont think I'd be happy with the results of a flux cored aluminum weld if the wire was available.
Reply:flux core has the advantage of not being effected by air turbulence. I've had to use smaw aluminum electrodes when doing repairs outside sometimes, its a whole other learning curve with them compared to aluminum mig. |
