This is a skid plate I recently built for one of my customers rock crawlers we needed some thing to control the torque and provide armored protection from rocks without being any lower than needed to keep ground clearance side mounts are mounted threw frame with a slug of 1 3/4 tubing welded into frame and poly spring bushings the t case is a STAK 3 speed monster box built here in town by some friends Attached Images250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1
Reply:I've never, Honest to God, seen a skid plate like that. Most I've seen are a plate with maybe a lip.I'm not a FWD nut so I don't know what the norm is, but that thing looks fantastic, like full armor for the transfer case."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:that was kind of the idea snug fit plenty of armor and nothing more than it needed but strong to resist the tcase lowest range of 5.43 to 1250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1

Reply:That is a nice looking Jeep crawler! I sure like that Toyota FJ40 in the background in the first pic!!
Reply:Nice work, I bet the skidplate won't look like that after 30 seconds on the trail!!!! Paint??/ What paint? I like the box to bucket design, that gives me some inspiration for the Tacoma...And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:thanks built it about a year and half ago after all that abuse it has held up very well 1 hub 2 axles a detroit and several tires are all it destroyed250DXMM251MM175225G plus 251D-1

Reply:Would this have been possible in the old carb days. I remember some Holleys that were made for high angle use, but I don't know how effective they were.Nother question........ How do you keep oil to the engine at that angle"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
