here is a fix I did a while ago, I came across the disposable camera a couple of days ago and got it developed, I was a little un easy about this fix due to my level of experience, but my employer at the time was confident in my skills more then I was, 4 1/2 years later its still hasn't broke (yet) this machine has a 8,000 lb cap. Reply:I don't do this for a living, and I don't do it on a regualr basis.  This looks like a real nail biter.I don't know about other guys, but it has always seemed to me that repairs are harder than building from scratch.  Repairs involve limited access, straightening damaged components, and hardest of all to me at least, the ability to figure what went wrong in the first place, and correct it so you don't have the same failure again.To open up a built up box beam like that, and build it back again, would scare the hell out of me.Cool stuff"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:the machine originally broke by a guy using it to ram something in a demo, then another guy at work did a horrible repair job, had someone home make a pin and bushings and heat treated the pin by putting it in his oven at home..... the pin snapped, and just wrecked the metal all around it. so I with only about a year of welding, was elected kinda against my will to repair it. I had the pin and bushings made, the pin was hardened to specifications, the metal I used was of the same grade of the existing metal, the pictures I posted don't really do the repair justice it was a little better then what appears in the pics. I made them sign a document releasing me of all liability, they said I would never be held liable due to being employed by them??? who knows, its held up this long, never seeing the way it was originally made it was tough to come up with what I did, tight clearances, existing hard lines to work around, compared to the way it was repaired the first time it was a million times better, only time will tell?
