when welding with 6013 what advantages are there between ac,dc-,dc+
Reply:On AC there is no arc blow. I like '13 on straight polarity, electrode negative. it seems to run slightly smoother than reverse.
Reply:I use straight polarity for 6013, also. I have a little Thermal Dynamic Dragster 90 amp inverter. There is a noticeable difference between that straight and reverse polarity. I guess because I am usually welding at the top end.I works well on AC. I use it quite a bit in the shop.Last edited by tapwelder; 11-24-2006 at 01:55 AM.
Reply:6013 can be run on DC + or -.DC + will give you a little more penetration.DC- will give you a little more smoother weld and more disposition. It works well on either polarity. Here in the Great White NorthMosquitoes can't fly at 40 below
Reply:In theory, electrode negative DCEN should result in the lowest penetration, best for thin stuff. AC would be a little deeper, and DCEP the deepest. |
