While talking to the guy behind the counter at my local welding supply shop, he recommended an easy to use electrode that produced strong and pretty welds. His exact words were "it pretty much welds itself."I bought some of the stuff and it sure is great. I'm a novice welder and I could produce some nice, solid welds without much effort. Also, the slag usually flakes off by itself as the weld cools. When it doesn't, a few light taps will chip it off with ease.Has anyone else here used the stuff? I'm also curious about its AWS classification because, the classification number did not appear on the package. It is an all postion 80 KSI electrode so it should be something like E-801X. The last digit would probably be a 1, 6 or 8 because it can be run on AC or DC reverse polarity.I'd appreciate any comments from others who have used or know about this electrode. |
