I'm located in Algonquin, Illinois and i was wondering about if some of you welders would be intrested in doing a little side job.I have rusty/holey frame rails; both are about 6" sections near the front drivers and passenger rails. Not sure if u could just weld a piece in over it or if it would have to be cut out and a new one welded in place.I do have an extra frame in my garage that could be cut for the new pieces.Let me know if anyone is intrested. Also mods, not sure where this should be so please move accordingly.

Reply:Wow, well I guess I win on the geographic front, since I live in the same town, what a small world !But I'm afraid I lose on the skill front - I haven't had enough experience to be messing around with car frames.Just out of curiosity what part of town do you live in? I'm south of 62, east of the river in a little un-incorporated area accessible via hubbard street. - John
Reply:I'm right behind Ashley Furniture.I'm going to ECC in a few months to learn welding. I've always wanted to just dont wanna spend 500+ on a welder.

Reply:yeah i know that. THats the field i'm going into also. But i just dont have the money to spend on one now. All the money is going to my 2 project cars lol.
Reply:I understand that and been there. What 2 cars do you have?John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Are you taking the welding 101 class that meets in the evenings, starting in January I think? I was thinking about taking the same one. Can't do the daytime class since I'm afflicted with a 'real' job....- John
Reply:I had a 66 Barracuda and sold it to buy my welder. It was a project and I could not get done what needed to be done. The welder paid for itself in a month. Thats the good thing about welders, they earn their keep.Bill
