Where do you guys get your metal from?

My local stores, home depot, sears, menards, lowes and terrace supply don't have much for metal. Some angle iron and flat and bar stock but that is it. What if I want a round piece or square piece (say 6"x6" or 1'x1') of stainless or aluminum. Say i want to build a model size race car, or overflow tank or something of that nature. Only thing these stores have is small pieces like 20g or 22g stuff.Or even tubing. I want some 1.25" aluminum tubing. Where can I get that from? Reply:Look for a local metal or steel supply company.  They will be WAAAAYYYY cheaper than Home Depot, Lowes, TSC, etc.  Hot rolled angle, tube, etc., is approximately $.53 cents per pound.

Reply:Look in the Yellow Pages for a steel dealer. The one I deal with is over 60 miles away, but if I buy more than $100 of material at a time, they'll deliver it for free. This is probably not uncommon.
Reply:Gamble,PM me with your contact info and what you are looking for.  I get a good rate from Alro because we buy so many tons per year.  I also really like AAA steel in Scherillville, IN.  Ask for Josh, he'll let you wander around the indoor yard and pick out drops.  If you head a little further South down 41, you'll land at my shop.  I'd be happy to let you browse my inventory and try a few different machines.
