Has anyone bought one recently that would have an opinion of the company and complexity ?  I am trying to convince one of my customers to switch their work over to burned sheet steel and am looking at the plasma cam pretty closely. making a decision in the next two weeks. Also if anyone is running a roto zip or other tool in it for plastic parts ? I machine a lot of 6/6 nylon and would love to have a roto zip with a end mill do the job for me.   thanks in advance.Dan.Repair Specialties LLC

Reply:They seem like a great machine for the money. The capability is awesome and if I have the cash or can get one financed, I'm going that route.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:For my application I am thiniking torchmate. I talked to both companys and feel the bang for the buck is in the torch mate. Maybe not for all of you, but for me, remember I am also going to use it to cut 6/6 nylon 1.200 thick using a roto zip or router. I am not opposed to steppers vrs servos , both have their place in  this world. I also am planning to run steppers and the software on a lathe and knee mill, that you cant do with the plasma cam, so they say, I think it could be done, they just didnt support it, and couldnt tell me how to do so. The torchmate sales guy was much more in tune with the process's and understood all of my needs and addressed them. One other thing I liked about the torch mate guy was that he never bashed any of the other competition, just told why their system was the way it was, the only negative he said was that he felt the plasma cam was way to light duty for running serious routing applications, even plasma cam told me straight out that I was on my own if I did anything other then plasma with their unit. Feel free to comment, I would love to gain more info from others on this subject. As always, I appreciate you guys/gals taking the time to discuss this with me.Dan.Repair Specialties LLC
