Reply:L9ooks good, if you clean (grind) off the mill scale, the undercutting may go away.David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Lookin' good. As mentioned, grind all mill scale prior to welding, and if you have one, remove all slag after welding with a wire wheel. Looks like you were pausing on the left side properly, but not enough time on the right. Keep up the good work.
Reply:i'm in welding school right now and i have been doing the vertical up also.. to get rig of the under cut pause a sec. longer but other than that its a very nice weld..
Reply:Good looking welds, the little undercut you do have could easily be eliminated by changing your rod angle a little.- If you can jump across it you can weld it! - anonymous old boilermaker
Reply:The undercut/underfill is so consistent I would also suggest changing rod angle.

Reply:Not too bad at all. And practice makes perfect---so they say.
Reply:The weld looks good , just looks a little to big of a fillet for that plate. Should only be the same thickness of the plate. Or it could just be the picture.
Reply:yes Bikespot, its a little big for the plate because underneath i practised a t joint with 3 passes and then i did the vertical, i need to save € on the steel.regards |
