See, I actually do weld once in awhile.  Been getting my mowers ready for the season.  My main machine is a Hustler 340.  Wanted to adjust the parking brake.  Simple job.  Yup.  Simple job.  Couldn't get the "star wheel" to turn thru the backing plate.  O.K., I'll pull the drum.  This machine operates with hydraulic motors, and the only brake inside the drums is the parking brake.  Piece of cake, take the BIG nut off, pull the drums, clean the innards, and adjust.  Piece of cake.  Get out my 3/4" socket set, ain't got a 1 11/16" socket in the set.  O.K. use a big pipe wrench.  Piece of cake.  Ain't moving.  Go to TSC and buy a socket.  Put a 1/2" to 3/4" adapter on my impact wrench, and nut comes off.  Now I discover, the hub is seized on the spindle.  No problem, get all my pullers out, none will work.  I need a HUB PULLER.  Check internet, can get one in 7-10 days.  I'll just make another trip to town.  Go to TSC first, don't have.  Go all the way on the other side of town to Harbor Freight.  They've got a zillion pullers, but no hub puller.  Called friends and relatives.  Nobody's got one.  I'll have to make one.  Here's what I came up with in a hurry.  Worked great with the impact and a "Smoke Wrench" on the hub.  I used the flat bar and nut from a puller I had made for something else.  Added the end pieces and machined pieces to fit over the wheel studs.After I got one side off, I discover it's a tapered/keyed shaft.  Upon reassemble, I applied Never Seize, in case I have to pull them suckers again.
