Hello, Well I can't take credit for the idea,( I saw this on another forum) but this is my First attempt at art. I Use the term loosely lol. As you can see I'm a avid bow hunter as well. The first pic is of the head started and antlers done for now. the next two are of the skull cap starting to be hammered out.So Tell Me what you all Think. Red. Reply:I like it!!!

Reply:Now, that's really neat!! It'll look good wherever you mount it.I carry my cylinders the same way. Sometimes the feed sack, or whatever, works loose as I go around a corner. Scares the daylights outta me when the thing rolls and slams against the other side of the bed.We used to have an OHP dude that would park across from the LWS at the carwash and bust guys coming out with layed down cylinders.I gotta feeling the local Chamber of Commerce, or town council, put a stop to it."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Thanks on the positive feed back, Farmersamm, The "red" bags are from my old job when I worked for the GoodYear Blimp As Chief Rigger,(cable and fabric work). They are 25 lbs. lead filled shot bags used for ballast. They make great load stabilizers. We went to steel shot and I ended up with about 25 to 30 of the things......work good for weight in the winter as well.As long as you drive sanely it stays where you put it, I also only go about 9 miles from the store to the house. Reply:That's cool! I like it. How do you get the brown finish?
Reply:Tim ,The brown finish just happens to be paint on the piece of sheet metal I used. the rod is from my new job( spring wire tempering furnace operator ) scrap bin that is oil quenched. Reply:Your using the same method I did with the eagle. I built a frame first with 1/4" rod to get the proportions and positioning right then "skinned" it from there. A lot of the body of mine is made with lower control arms off an 83 Camaro, pipe, an old PC case on the bottom of the base, 2 brake rotors inside that, and many feet of flat bar for the feathers. Is that weld bead your using to texture the base of the horns....I'd be curious to see a close up shot of the......It's looking great, keep goin'!If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:Hey! That beauty is my bird! Here is the latest one, almost finished, I just cranked out this week end. I'll leave this one silver and clear coat it. I still need to close up the seams where the feathers meet the rest of the wings....probably will TIG that part.

Reply:Depends where your wants, wishes and interests lie.....personally, it would be great to watch an eagle head go together. I like doing car stuff too. At some point, I'd like to do a nude female kinda sculpture. I do it as a hobby and it really doen't matter what I'm building as long as I enjoy doing it. That's part of the reason I can put the amount of time I put into projects. Have fun with it.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:My first car was a 1966 Plymouth Satellite Commando convertable, second was a 1970 340 Duster....I wish I had them now! The '69 Coronet would make a great project, got any pics? Be careful, my winter project on a 1976 Datsun 280 Z turned into a 12 year job that I still haven't finished. If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.
