Roll bar in my Mr2

Reply:Looks like you got the base plates welded in nicely, too!  I had to laugh at how much contradictory info your last post generated...  Looks good!
Reply:I had a red MR2 for 17 years.  I have to say a person would have to work pretty hard to roll one of those.  I can't tell you how many times I spun mine though.  Once I was making a U-turn around the median in the rain.  The car went the 180, then hydroplaned like a hockey puck and did a perfect 360 in the going forward in the opposite direction traffic lane. I could not believe it!  And there was traffic coming too,  but I just kept going like nothing out of the ordinary happened.  Those cars handle like a hockey puck.  There is no warning when the coefficient of friction is about to be broken since there is no over or under steer going on.  They just spin and that is it.

Reply:Looks good the only thing I reccomend/ do when I build cages like this is stitch weld the plates into the sheet metal instead of welding them all the way around. Ive seen it done both ways though looks goodHTP Invertig 201Lincoln Idealarc SP250Miller 180 AC StickBy farmall:They should have held the seagull closer to the work, squeezing evenly for best deposition.
