Lets say you need 50 amps to weld this piece of aluminum, you have a foot pedal. Should you ramp it up to a higher level? It seems like it takes a lot to get the puddle started, and after you do you can cut back some. Should you just wait till it finally melts, or run it up hot and then cut back. thanks.

Reply:is there a trick to starting the weld. Once it gets going its smooth sailing, but starting the weld and doing short sections, I guess that it then comes down to experience.
