Money Job for local MachineShop.

So you don't think I just play With Deer.....lol Here is a job from local machine shop. 11 Brackets for some type of laser measuring fixture.  All Tig work. They made the jig for the job. Reply:Looks good.. I've done alot of piece work for a local machine shop.. That can get to be good money once you get your steps down.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:I do some piece work for a machine shop too.  Its nice stuff to work with and good money. Worse I have to do is clean oil off.Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Hillco, It was right at $1.22 an Inch. Cheap I know , but I really don't pay much for consumables.($30 for a refill of Argon bottle and about $2.00 a pound for rod, and a gal per. hour for the gen.) If you figure by hour it's about Union wage for a pipe fitter.Plus I don't have to make the jigs so I save time there as well.I make out Pretty good. Reply:DavidR, It's funny you should say that. , They had a positioner that sat in a corner of there shop that wasn't used in like 8/9 years.At one time they owed me like $250.00 for a job I did , well I asked about the thing.They said they would sell it but it wouldn't be cheap.Ended up I gave them $25.00 and called it even for the $250.00. What a steal.Even told them it was to cheap and that I'd give more because I felt like I was stealing........He said no, I told you what I thought and that what it is regardless. Will post a pic if you like.Red.
