I saw an ad for a high intensity (halogen?) light that attaches to your MIG gun, and now I can't seem to find it...  I was thinking about checking out this do-dad...  Has anyone else seen this gizmo and has anyone bought or used one, and is it worth a spit?
Reply:Lincoln has one,  no never used one.
Reply:What is it supposed to be used for?  JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :

Reply:Hey gorillawelder....  Yeah, like I said earlier, I too saw an ad for this goofy thing and thought it might be worth a second look. I've got some out of position crawl space work coming my way...  Thought this gizmo might be worth the price of admission... We'll see..Been running my search engine looking for it, but all I've come up with are those goofy patent descriptions...  If you come across some information, I'll appreciate the hand...
Reply:Hey oldog12,Since you indicated you may be doing some crawlspace/downunder, you may find interest in these mag base lights. I got them for the classic car restorations when I have to weld under a vehicle. They are quite handy as you can place them wherever you need them for needed illumination. The one that Harbor Freight displays in the first photo has been replaced with a newer modified one. The 2nd photo shows the (3) I have and are the new model they sell. You may find these will work for you also. Hope this helps....   Dennyhttp://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96766 Attached ImagesComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:Denny,   Thanks for the tip...  I'll have to check them out...  Thanks
Reply:Still hoping someone out there has a line on that light that attaches to a MIG gun/spool gun.  I've looked for "MIG gun light", "MIG gun halogen light", "clamp on MIG gun light", and various other strings in my searches but crapped out on all of them...  Could really use a hand finding this do-dad...  So anyone out there that might have seen this gizmo and know where I can lay my knurled grubby hands on one of these thing-a ma-jigs.... Your assistance will be greatly appreciated....  Thanks
Reply:I too saw this light and couldn't find it again. Found it on eastwood.com ,it is called a mig light item #11614 for $ 27.99. Hope this is of help.I bought 2 so I have a spare.
Reply:I see them all the time on Ebay, but here it is on Amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Mig-Welder-Wel.../dp/B0048GADR2I've never tried one, but it does look interesting.

Reply:I have one.  It will help you in some positions.  It is easy to get on and off.  I have used it to be sure I am starting the bead where I intended.  Once the arc is going the light isn'y bright enough to do much.
Reply:I was thikingof buying one. I am an auto mechanic in Ontario with lots of rusty cars. I thought it might help.  Here is the linc to the Matco site.Mikehttp://matcotools.com/catalog/produc...GHT/MIG-LIGHT/Miller Thunderbolt AC/DCMillermatic 211 and spoolmatePower Plasma 50Syncrowave 180 SDMike
