Ive got an old Lincoln 300/300 welder that I use for TIG. I usually use a foot controller, but with welding on a racecar, it is not always practical so I use the wire feed welder a lot. The other day I tried a push button on the TIG torch and it worked Ok, but couldnt get my amperage right. On one range, I would turn the dial on the welder all the way to max and it wasnt enough heat. So, I switched the heat selector switch to the next level and then I rotated the fine adjustment all the way to minimum and then it was too hot, so Im not able to fine tune my welding with a button like I can with the foot pedal. Anybody have any ideas? Is there such a thing as a variable knob that can be on the torch? By the way, I was trying to butt welding maybe 22(?) Gauge sheetmetal.ThanksMark
