Just some Welds I did for practice

Well, I got a new camera and decided to test it out, get used to the new settings and such so I decided to take a few pictures of some practice welds.Nothing fancy, they could be better. Practice makes perfectAnyway, feel free to add some constructive criticism or opinionsOh yes, just click the pics and u'll be taken right to them, the images are rather large at first but they automatically get resized. I dont have photoshop at the moment to resize them. SorryEnjoy1. Metal Core Single pass 2. Metal Core, 3 Passes 3. Flux Core Vertical up on Thick Steel different view 4. Another flux core vertical up, 1/4" steel (using different settings)

Reply:The metal core looks fantastic. The frist two flux cored beads have pin holes...or porosity. To much heat not enough wire speed. I can't  see enough of the last flux cored weld to give you a solid read. But you have the skills to lay nice welds as evidence by the nice looking metal cored beads. Need a bit more practice with the flux cored wire it seems.Looks promising to me keep at it bro.'Mike
Reply:well, still practicing2 images of the same vertical using fluxcore , also testing my camera outThere was more material this time to disperse the heat as apposed to the images above on the 1/4 pieces.Still not really satisfied, dose anyone got any suggestions or methods to get better results?gonna try the upside down V technique tomorrow, see how that goesps. had to cut my # out and thanks in advance for any suggestions, hints or tips, much appreciated Attached ImagesLast edited by then3wguy; 04-28-2009 at 11:19 PM.
