Anyone got any pictures of how they mounted oxy acetylene tanks? Preferably in a regular bed. I'm also wondering how you secure them? I don't want to make a full cabinet for them, but I don't want people messing with them, and at my apartment, it could happen.I've been thinking of making a locking cabinet just for the top of it so no one can remove the tanks to steal them and nobody can get the caps off to open the valves or anything.

Reply:Make a base for the tanks so you have to lift them and drop them into the base. then make something up to that locks the tanks in and prevents them from being lifted up. That will keep them put.
Reply:Maybe like a locking collar that would go near the valve area, just below it. Bottle is smaller at this point. Would have to be sliding collar though. Exchange bottles around here sometimes vary in height and shape."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:mate i'd prolly make/buy a trolley for them, mod that to lock the bottles in using chain and a padlock, and then find a way to secure the trolley to where you want them, having the setup with the option unlock it and move it around will come in handy.
Reply:It woould be really nice if when they made those tanks that they welded a chain ring onto it.
Reply:I think vandacoot has the right idea for you.
Reply:Maybe this will give you some idea...Even if it's how not to do it! Attachment 32621You can pile the stuff on and around, and still change the cylinder easily.Last edited by denrep; 10-19-2010 at 11:36 PM. |
