I have no idea if this will work, but it would be handy in my shop.http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/we...pot/4E425.htmlIt will go on an LN9-GMA with nothing smaller than .045 wire.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Looks like a nice gun. I would be interested to hear how it works. I run mostly .035 wire and am not sure if there would be any feed problems with a gun that long or not. The 255C seems to feed very well though, so I would like to try a gun that long. Let us know how it works out.Patriot Performance AutoLincoln Power Mig 255CLincoln AC-225 StickVictor Journeyman O/AQuincy QT-5 Compressor
Reply:The smaller the wire the harder it is to push. I don't think I have ever had a .045 birds nest. I could reach both sides of the truck or car I am working on with out moving the wire feed. Guess I will be a guenna pig. (I am 1/2 italian)I am going to order it on monday.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I don't see why it shouldn't work for you. The biggest thing is to pay attention to the cable making sure there are no loops or bends. As you already know this will reduce friction._________________Chris
Reply:I doubt you will be happy with a 25 footer gun if you can even buy a liner that long. Click on the parts list and the longest liner on the list is 15 feet. To paraphrase one long retired salesman doing a MIG presentation to a group: "I just love selling your guys 15 foot leads! I know I will be making lots more on new liners and parts." I can't see you pushing 045 wire 25 feet. A better alternative is to put the feeder on an overhead boom or trolley.
Reply:Hey lotechman, you are right, I didn't see the 25' liners. I was going to buy a spare liner, but I don't see em either. I like my 15 footer more than the 12. Never have any trouble with it, but I clean it regularly. This is why I posted here before I blew my $.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I'm a firm believer in putting feeders on carts, crane hooks on the feeder and/or boom mounts. Dave you are not an typical welder. The standard scenario is first a volley of cussing ending in smashing the nozzle against anything nearby followed by a coloured declaration that the gun isn't any good. A careful person can make a 15 footer run reliably. ( sorta a back-handed compliment:'))
Reply:OK, I chickened out and bought the 15 footer.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Im gonna give a 15 foot Binzel gun a try too. Just seems to darn convenient.
