Reply:I made a set of small plates as guides for the plasma torch.  Allowing for the thickness of the tip, each plate renders a hole a specific size. Using the plates as a guide, I can cut holes from 1/2" to 1-1/2" in increments of 1/16".  First, without using the guide plate, I pierce a hole in the plate. Then I locate the plate and simply follow the guide while cutting.  A touch-up with the grinder and you're good to go.It doesn't quite offer the precision of a drilled hole, but if you're just gonna bolt something together, it's more than close enough.  I only use my mag drill when I have to.The best things in life all come on a stick!
