OK, need a little help here.Guy has an OLD (probably 30yrs+) ARC welder. I wanted to try to find info about it, but of course I forgot who made it.Big, Red, has its own battery charger in the panel, tons of plug ins for various amps, and sounded French. I believe it ended in "eau" He said something about a higher end Lincoln?Anyone help me out here?Guy is an old body shop owner and wants $100 for it along with a LONG set of leads and a normal length set.
Reply:Sounds like a "Forney" I had a Forney that was a beauty (but the capacitors went bad on me).If it is a Forney, they seemed to be well built welding machines.I've seen ones from the the 40's and 50's at auctions that still worked fine.Good Luck
Reply:Yup, that's it!I think I will pass on this one as from doing a little research real quick, that price is not a huge bargain(although decent) ,weighs a ton and the machine is pretty finicky about rods. |
