Building some aluminum air lines in a shop, looking to put up a 2" ID (.156 wall) main line, and branch off with 1" ID (.133 wall) lines. The people I've been talking to for ordering materials aren't sure how much pressure the SCH 40 seamed pipe is good for? To be on the safe side, if it spiked, could reach 200-250 PSI. Thoughts, ideas? I'm having them get me a quote on some seamless as well.
Reply:the manufacturer should have a pressure rating for them if you call them up. It might also be printed right on the pipe.
Reply:If someone is in the business of selling pipe they should be able to tell you everything about it. I would find another vendor. Why not use carbon steel pipe?Dan |
