Hi, I need to define parameters for a SMAW welding process for doing a fillet T-weld. One of the metals has a thickness of 12.7 mm (1/2") and the other one 1/8". The base metal is a ferritic stainless steel (AISI 429).Does anybody have any reference that I can use to select the electrode, diameter, current and voltage? Preferrably an online reference, I don't have much access to books.Thank you.
Reply:Lincoln procedure handbook for arcwelding. Available at Lincoln.com.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I am assuming that you are doing work for school??? The book David mentioned is a good one for that info, but I will add if you ask for parameters on here for a given joint you will get numerous answers. Every weldor here welds different and uses variations in the chosen parameters, but the end result will be the same. A quality weld.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Ok, thank you. I'll try to get the Lincoln handbook. |
