Correct me if im wrong, but i was under the impression that you can use hf-251d-1 in unison with the coolmate 4? I'm trying to hook them up but i think i must be missing something.?
Reply:That unit needs to be hooked up to a power source, (not sure if you are aware of this)It creates a Hi Freq current for starting an arc without touching the tungsten to the piece, also for welding on AC for Alum. You'll need a water cooled powerblock so that you can connect your torch & chiller up to it. Usually around $30.00Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:. . .and don't connect the coolant lines to the power source connections if it has a water valve. Connect it the way WeldingMachine described with a power block at the HF-251D-1 to prevent deadheading the water flow/pressure when not welding with the cooler operating (per the unit manual).MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I just don't know how to hook up the coolmate 4 with the hf-251d-1? I have both manuals but it dosn't say anything about incorporating both to work together, there's not diagrams or anything for me to go off of. I saw this diagram http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=49911 which was a little more help than the manuals that came with both units. So i have a water cooled torch, power adapter, the gas line coming from the regulator and the water cooler and hf box and not sure how it gets all hooked up. But from the link i do see now i have to buy some coolant hose for the input and output. I'm just overwhelmed with hose and cable everywhere and not knowing what goes where does anybody know where there's a diagram that would explain how to hook both units up to the welder?
Reply:This diagram makes perfect sense to me but can somebody possibly show me how the hf-251d-1 unit would be integrated into it?
Reply:ok i will ask .. WHAT power source are you using?HF would go in between the source and the torch power -HF- torch (can you show real pics of the machinesidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tigidealarc 250/250 ac-dc tig #2 used for sticklincoln sp100hh125dual arbor grinder polisher30 yrs of hand tools52 pitch blocks 6p-26prake gauge -pitch gaugeG&D prop repair 918-207-6938Hulbert,okla 74441
Reply:Think of the POWER SOURCE shown in your diagram as the HF-251D-1.Now imagine a work lead running from the WORK/+ output stud of your actual power souce (somewhere off the diagram) to the WORK INPUT/OUTPUT of the HF-251D-1 and an electrode lead running from the ELECTRODE/- output stud of the power source to the ELECTRODE IN of the HF-251D-1. The power block / TIG torch lead goes to the ELECTRODE OUTPUT of the HF unit. Page 13 of manual http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o611u_mil.pdf shows everything but the cooler and coolant lines. The gas lines would run to/from the gas valve of the HF-251D-1.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
