Reply:If it's a 110volt MIG, it will probably do 1/4 with the correct amount of prep.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com

Reply:Yep, 220V 140 amp you should be able to single pass 1/4" material. What else would you like to know?John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Thats it buddy, thanks...funny you replied when you did, a Miller rep called me back on it and gave me some specs on it since the first guy could not.....I was comparing it to the MillerMatic 180 and I always assumed the "180" meant amps out...but according to the rep he siad my machine was rated at 120amps @21V, DC w/30% duty....the 180 is rated at 135amps @22.5V, DC w/same duty cycle........is there a big difference in just 15 amps as far as thickness of material to be welded?.Thanks again for your info, I had it about the same time the rep had called so you beat him to it.Starting on Numero Dos tbucket
Reply:Welcome. Yes, based on 1 amp per .001 inch of material. Another 15 amps will gain you roughly another 1/16 inch of material.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:....dont have the correct plug and it appears to have taken a pretty hard fall during shipping....the bottom "rail" was bent and it aint moving, its some strong stuff so must have been a good fall....anyway took the cover off and this little "roll thing" cmae rolling out...there was another one in the same area, but it was somewhat attached yet broke at the terminal..it just suspends over the terminal....what is this so that I can correctly ask for it ...assuming I'll have to find where the loose one came from and replace the broke one...thanks in advanceStarting on Numero Dos tbucket
Reply:Whooops! That's a resistor...I'm not sure the machine is going to work without those. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com |
