welding and a cold don't mix well

Been fighting a late summer cold since the weekend and it has made any attempt at welding a nightmare with shaky hands and post nasal drip coughing and headaches topped by hot and cold chills.  Its beaten up my steadiness and killed my speed something awful and unfortunately I'm still on probation and can't miss time.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.

Reply:That sucks. Don't mes around with this too much. It's nothing to ignor. People die from pneumonia if not treated right. If the doc says stay home, stay home. A doctors note and a hospital stay will usually sufice for "time off". It beats long term permenant unemployment 6 feet under..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Yep, been there. I now work for myself and can't take time off, because then the work doesn't get done.
Reply:Been working most every day for the last month with only 2 days off.  Thankfully it was caught in the early stages and the xray showed that it was cottony looking but not a thick xray blocking mass but it is in both lungs.  I'll be taking tomorrow off it looks like but it depends on how I feel in the morning now that I'm taking zithromax along with hydrocodone infused robitussin dm plus albuteral and mucinex dm max strength.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.
Reply:That kind of cocktail and welding equipment not a good combo. We dont need and grider accident posts or such. Reply:I recently had a similar health problem that wouldn't go away and got worse every time I tried to get anything done. The only thing that fixed me was taking the penicillin that my doctor prescribed. After a week of that I was my old self again. Reply:Charley I just finished an antibiotic called zithromax that works very well and you only take it for 5 days.  That coupled with the mucinex dm max strength plus a ventolin inhaler 4 times a day and a hydrocodone laced cough syrup really have helped get me back on my feet to about %90 of my normal self as of today.  I was able to stop the cough syrup after two days as it made for some trippy dreams in conjunction with some regular meds I take.  The mucinex really does work wonders and with the inhaler has helped me get mucus out from the very bottom lobes of the lungs and made it easier to clear my sinuses as well.Convinced a guy I work with to go see his doctor today as he has been coughing for allot longer than I had and has been running down lately.Can't say that I do since we have close to 30k employee's now in a yard thats 2.5 miles long and .7 miles wide.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.
