well, since i saw so many of these thredas recently i decided to quit lurking, make an account, and post up my own shelves and bench.here is the mess i started out with. when i bought the house from my parents my dad took all the benches he had in there, they were just old kitchen counters and wall units so i wanted to change them later anyways. So i finished the first bit, all overkill, 2"x2" 1/8 wall. 8' tall, 2' deep w/ shelves spaced at 2'. not sure on the exact legths of the shelves anymore. unfortunetly welded with a ****ty arc 120v arc welder i borrowed from a friend, it kept popping the breaker and was just generally a frustrating POS to work with.then for a second part of my shelves that i did at a later date, i added this little side shelf w/ a little organizer to put stuff inand i built this other shelf to put my tool box onthen a couple years after i started with the first shelves i finally built a benchthe bench was made with some various pieces i had laying around. at the back i used a long piece of 4x7 angle so that it had a backboard to stop things from rolling behind the bench. the legs were made from some old 3"ish pipe that used to be from a drilling rig or a crane boom, i can't remember. 9.5' long, and 32" deep, stands around 38" tall and i can yank and hammer on stuff thats clamped down all i want and it doesn't move.unfortunelty no close ups of any welds because the camera i had at that time sucked, any stuff i do now i can take decent pics with my digital SLR.Last edited by supra_devil; 06-24-2009 at 04:16 AM.
