Started this thread becuase I have seen alot of you guys have built some pretty tough looking bull bars/ram bars. Iam actually very intrested in in doing a full exo cage and heavy duty bull bars with push bumper on my future pick up. along with headach rack for the rear window. I have alot of ideas rolling around in my head on how Iam going to execute the build but until I actually go home and buy a truck I won't be puting anything on paper. Iam really going for a intimadation look with some severe off-road/work protection (working on Army trucks too much) but I was hoping you guys could post up your own work so I can get some ideas, I would also like to know how you went about building you creations if you don't mindFLASH ME.... Reply:Invest or make a air or hydraulic setup for your tubing bender. And if you got the money go for as good of bender as you can afford. The bumper we built we did half with the bender we got, and the other half with a hydraulic bender a friend has. We got a Pro 105 manually operated, and it was a pain, it marred the tubing, the set screws put a dimple in the tubing, we had to take all the dies out and pound on the tube to get it out after we were done bending. The one our friend had was a Hossfield, a really old one with a hydraulic ram, slip the tube in, line up your bend start marks, bend, release, pulls right out. |
