I needed a spring compressor to add spacers to the struts on my truck so I tried a set at the store, well it couldnt compress it enough to add the spacer plus the bolts on the compressor were bending. At that point the spring compressor was making me nervous so I decided to make one that would be safer and alot easier. I had seen this model somewhere once so I made one just like it. There was no effort to compress the springs and no worry about the spring popping off. The bolt mounts go through dilled holes in the plate at the top, the lower end of the struts just use a bolt to hold it in place. Reply:Good Deal I did almost the same thing except I already had a shop press, just made upper and lower fixtures to keep spring from flying. Looks like Tacoma? I needed height to clear 33's, but spacers made the ride stiff.Peter
Reply:is it versatile ? what happens if you need it for a different vehicle?
Reply:Yep It's a taco I went up to 32" tires on it. Yes it will work with different vehicles. It's not what you can buy, it's what you can build that matters |
