Dont have lots of money to buy a new Camper Trailer but my wife and I really want one. So I got to thinking of building my own Camper Trailer. I already have a 12 foot camper that is all screwed up, but the frame and axle are good. So i'd like to stick to that size. It's only to go camping Locally so not really worried about long trips. Anyone do something like this where they built their camper trailer?
Reply:Hey Ruben, I bet there is a whole forum somewhere dedicated to DIY camper trailer builds. I'd like a camper trailer, too, but yes they are expensive.Yeah, I carry.House keys, wallet, some change, usually a newspaper, maybe a pen.
Reply:I have a toy hauler/camper we built out of a Cargo Express trailer its 20' and has frig, microwave, sink, cabnets top and bottom with counter top, 20 gallon fresh water tank that has 12 volt pump. We also have an inverter that can power all but roof air conditioner. Its been great but I have a 5th wheel I bought for work and don't need it any more $4200.00 oboWelding Instructor/
Reply:I built the frame for a teardrop trailer. It was for my brother. I don't have a picture of the finished trailer, but here's one of the frame after fabrication and powder coating. Reply:I may be wrong, but I believe you'll have more money spent in a DIY camper, than if you go to an RV dealer and buy a used one. Or, check Craig's List or eBay. In today's economy, money is going to talk. Folks are hurting and selling off their "toys".I've been in the RV thing for a bunch of years. RV individual parts are expensive.Just my opinion. Good luck with your project. |
