I bought a new Harris medium duty torch the other day that only came with 12' of 3/16" hose which is pretty weak. I want to replace with at least 50'. Is there any reason/benefit to increase to 1/4" hose or do I stay with 3/16" because that's what my set came with? Thanks.
Reply:If you want to run 50' I would recomend 1/4". 3/16" will reduce the volume of gas flow to your torch. If you are using a small cutting tip, 3/16" would be fine, but if you are cutting with a large tip, use 1/4" hose. Thats my twist on it all.
