Well...I did it. After 2 months of research and hemming and hawing, I finally ordered my new MIG today: HTP 2400 with RSG250 Spool Gun; 15' MIG gun and 25' SG control cable. Ordered the cover to go with it too.If anyone else out there has an HTP product, lemme know how you like it and/or what you'd change. Once again I simply cannot say enough nice things about HTP's owner Jeff Noland. He's open like a book, honest to a fault, and admits when something is unclear to him. The products are comparable to Miller's, the parts are interchangeable with other brands, and the prices are MUCH more competitive. After this I'll be ordering the HTP 201 AC/DC Inverter TIG machine!!~Clint

Reply:Hey, let me know what you think of that spool gun. I have been considering buying a couple for a portable engine drive, but just haven;t gotten around to it. Congratulations on the new purchase. ~JacksonI'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:Clint,Glad to hear you found a machine you can be comfortable with. I know after fighting aluminum in that Lincoln MIG, using a spoolgun will make you think you died and went to Heaven.Waiting for evaluation.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.

Reply:I saw those spool guns in the new catalog I got from Jeff recently. I plan to get one to run on the Bobcat on the truck. Seem like a good deal to me!I have the HTP MIG200, been using it for about 15 years now, very happy with it, no problems, got a good deal on it too, dont have any plans to replace it with anything else, dont see a need to as it works just fine. I eventually got a 15' torch for it. The extra length is very helpful. I wish it came with 15' torch and ground cable when it was new. Volt/amp meters would be nice too. The new MIG2400 has the meters and a little higher duty cycle so if I were to buy it again today, I would get the 2400 instead of the 200, but at the time I bought mine, the 2400 hadn't been invented yet... I think you'll be quite happy with that new MIG2400 MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op

Reply:WoW! Wish I'd known that when I started!! Cool Link. I didn't break mine down quite that far, but it was similar.I also listed prices from various sources of supply and then broke it down further into cost/Amp per those various S.O.S.'s.... |
