Reply:Hey guys,Thanks for giving Brandon the Names and address to these places. I have once again benefited from a thread I did not start. I will also be investigating these places. There is a place, and I have tried to recall the name but so far cannot, in Fort Worth, just north of downtown. I went there to buy some steel plate for a company I worked for and even when steel was high, they sold "scrap" at 15 cents a pound. I bought 13 full sheets of 1/8" plate for 15 cents a pound (on;y needed two but at that price, I'll take it). Now I cannot find the name of the place and have been trying for a while. That was about a year ago that I bought it.If I can get the name and address, I will post it here. Full sheets at that price is worth the drive to North Ft. Worth. If anyone knows of this place, please post it. They take the good scrap and put it across the street in a small yard to sell it.Bob
Reply:yeah I would like to know about that. There are a few salvage places up in north Fort Worth but most are just a mess and the steal is buried under garbage.... Norton up in far North Ft Worth just sales new and used to be a little high. Thanks guys this helps a lot as money is getting harder to come by.....BrandonLincoln Tombstone 225 A/C Steel StickerOld Victor O2/Acetylene setupMiller Syncrowave 250 Tig/PC-300 PulserMiller Millermatic 212 Mig HTP Invertatig 201 Giant Teck D50 Plasma cutterLots of HF grinders |
